The basket must be prepared from yeast pastry or regular dough of such a density that it is possible not only to roll it and cut it into strips, but also to weave the basket from strips.
The basis for weaving will be a metal bowl. The bowl must be turned upside down and wrapped in foil. The dough needs to be rolled thinly and cut into 32 strips 2 cm thick. 14 strips need to be laid out so that they hang at regular intervals on the sides of the bowl and connect at the bottom. Next, you need to mold the strips in one place and squeeze well so that the bottom of the basket turns out flat. Another 12 strips of dough need to be intertwined with those that hang from the bowl, to cover at the bottom, and trim the rest of the dough. From the remaining strips you need to weave a braid with a length equal to the circumference of the lower edge of the bowl, connect it into a circle and hook the edges. Next, we need to weave another braid for the handle of the basket. Grease everything with a beaten egg and bake in a preheated oven until golden brown.
After the basket cools down, you need to attach the rim-braid to the edge and the handle to it. The handle of the basket is a purely decorative element, so you cannot take the basket by the handle. Such a basket with colored eggs inside will decorate any Easter table; in addition, the basket can be decorated with colorful bright ribbons.
