Frozen vegetables are a healthy alternative to greenhouse winter vegetables. Thanks to the technology of shock freezing, they contain as many vitamins as they were when they were just removed from the garden. Frozen vegetables, unlike seasonal ones, are available at any time of the year. In order for this product not to lose its beneficial properties, it must be able to be cooked correctly. As you know, the most healthy vegetables are boiled.

Instruction manual

1

Pour water at a rate of 100 grams of liquid for every 500 ml of frozen vegetables. Peas, corn and green beans require twice as much water. Salt if you need salted vegetables.

2

Bring water to a boil and put vegetables in it without defrosting. Since they are cold, they will instantly stop the boil. Wait for the water to boil again.

3

If vegetables are cooked not in separate pieces, but in frozen lumps, then they will be cooked unevenly - those that can already be digested on the outside, and those that are inside, on the contrary, are not digested. Therefore, take a fork or spatula and carefully separate them.

4

Add herbs or other seasonings to your liking, reduce heat to medium and cover the pan with a lid. Since you have not poured a lot of water, it is important that it does not evaporate, and the vegetables are cooked almost steamed. So they better keep the color and shape.

5

Cook vegetables in accordance with the instructions on the packaging. If you have home-made frozen vegetables or you don’t find instructions, then focus on cabbage (broccoli, cauliflower, etc.), chopped carrots, zucchini, etc. boil for about 5-7 minutes. Peas, green beans and Chinese beans, as well as corn are cooked for 3 to 5 minutes, leafy vegetables such as spinach are cooked even faster in 1-2 minutes.

6

Once the vegetables are ready, turn off the heat and drain the water. If you leave cooked vegetables in a hot liquid, they will cook for some time and become digested.

7

If you want to boil vegetables in the microwave, put them in a special container or dish that is suitable for microwave ovens. Close the lid, leaving a small opening for steam to escape, and put it into the oven. Turn it on at high power for 4-5 minutes. After this time, remove the container, check the preparedness of vegetables with a knife or fork. If they still have not been cooked, put them in the oven at the same power for 2-3 minutes. If they are almost ready, then close the container tightly and leave them in a hot bowl for 2-3 minutes - they will reach the desired condition.
