Any feast will become more festive if you bring your own highlight when serving dishes on the table. Decoration for salads is easy to make. Roses made from a simple cucumber look very impressive.

Method 1
Take a long but not very thin cucumber. Rinse thoroughly with water and dry well with a dry towel.

Take a horizontal peeler and carefully cut the cucumber into thin slices. They will be the base of the flower.

The first and last strip with a skin for making roses will not work - it is thicker than the others, the rose will not curl from it. Take them away.

Take the second strip, roll it into a tight tube about two-thirds of its length.

Hold the twisted steering wheel with your left hand firmly with your thumb and forefinger. Twist the free part of the strip 180 degrees in the opposite direction from yourself. Move the middle from your axis, wrap the rudder twisted by a strip around its axis.

Turn the remaining end of the strip 180 degrees again and repeat the procedure.

When the strip ends, take a new strip of cucumber, wrap it between the remaining end of the first strip and the rose itself. Turn out one more petal. When this strip ends, take the third and repeat the whole process with it.

As soon as the size of the received rose starts to suit you, feel free to start making a new rose. Usually from three or four cucumber strips you get one beautiful voluminous rose.

Upon reaching the desired size of the rose, take half a toothpick and gently pierce the flower, trying to capture the middle.

Method 2
Cut the cucumber into thin circles.

Take one circle and roll it up as far as possible.

Wrap the second ring around the twisted first, add the third and fourth.

Carefully pierce the resulting rose with a toothpick.

3-4 roses are obtained from one cucumber.
Useful advice
Stripes and rings of cucumber should be cut very thinly, 1-2 mm wide, otherwise the rose will not work or will turn out to be rough in appearance.
While preparing a flower from a cucumber, firmly hold the middle, otherwise the rose may unfold.
