You will need

  • - Ginger root

  • - Two lemons

  • - Sugar

  • - Dry yeast

  • - Three liter jar

  • - Medical glove

Instruction manual

1

Peel the ginger and grate it on a fine grater. You should get two or three tablespoons of ginger mass.

Put it in a jar.

2

Squeeze the juice out of the lemons. You can even use your hands. It’s not scary if pulp or seeds get into the jar!

3

Pour 300-350 grams of granulated sugar there. If you like sweets, take 350, if you prefer astringency and sourness, 300 is enough.

4

To top it off, add dry yeast. Quite a bit, about a quarter teaspoon is enough.

5

Fill the jar with warm water. It is better to heat it in a saucepan to a temperature of 40-45 degrees. It should not be scorching, but it must be higher than room temperature so that the yeast begins to ferment.

6

Wear a regular medical glove on top of the jar. In one of the fingers with a toothpick, pierce a hole, and leave the jar for two days in a dark, cool place.

I will explain in more detail. In a jar, thanks to a combination of yeast and sugar, the fermentation process begins. At this stage, our ale should not be in contact with oxygen. However, carbon dioxide is released during fermentation, and if the jar is simply clogged with a lid, it can explode. A glove with a hole will prevent fresh air from entering the inside, and the gas released will accumulate in the glove itself, and, if necessary, be vented through the hole.

7

After two days, pour the contents of the can into plastic bottles, screw it in a stopper and put in the refrigerator. During this time, the yeast will “eat” almost all of the sugar and the fermentation process will begin to slow down. In the refrigerator, the process of carbonation will begin.

8

After two days, the bottles can be opened and drunk. I recommend pouring through a strainer, since excess ginger and lemon will not decorate your glasses. The drink will be carbonated and very tasty!

note

Considering that ale is made with your own hands, I think that the fact that at the output you get a completely healthy product devoid of GMOs or preservatives does not need comment. In winter, he will even replenish your body with a supply of vitamins!

However, keep in mind that ginger and lemon are very caustic foods. For people with a sick stomach, its use may be contraindicated.

Useful advice

The longer the ale stays in the refrigerator, the more energetic it will become. But we do not recommend keeping it in the bank for more than two days: the drink can ferment, and drinking it will no longer bring pleasure.
