You will need

    • apples - 1 kg;
    • plums - 1 kg;
    • sugar - 1 kg;
    • molds for solidification;
    • glass jars;
    • small pan;
    • a baking sheet;
    • butter - 10 g.

Instruction manual

1

To prepare apple-plum marmalade, thoroughly rinse apples and plums under water. Peel and peel the fruits, cut into small pieces and put on a baking sheet, previously greased with butter. Bake for 25-30 minutes at a temperature of 180 degrees. Fruits should be completely softened, baked and easily susceptible to further processing.

2

Take out the apples and plums and wipe them through a fine sieve, it is better to repeat this procedure two times, so that the mass in consistency looks like a cream. Apples contain a fairly large amount of pectin - a natural gelling substance, but if they are not very fresh, you can add gelatin to the mass.

3

Put the resulting mixture in a small saucepan and add granulated sugar. Simmer until cooked. The degree of thickening of the mass is manifested as follows: the bottom of the dishes is touched with a tablespoon and if after stirring the bottom is visible for more than two seconds, then the marmalade is almost ready. It is very important to ensure that the marmalade does not burn, so during cooking it must be often stirred.

4

Remove the pan from the heat and refrigerate at room temperature. Pour the product into small silicone molds or the remaining chocolate molds in the box; you can also use ice molds. Smooth the mass with a spatula and leave it in the open air for two or three days, during which time the marmalade can be turned over. In order to improve the taste of marmalade, you can add walnuts and cinnamon to this recipe if desired.

5

The dried marmalade can be immediately consumed, in addition, it can be rolled up in sterilized glass jars for long-term storage. In this case, the jars should be stored in a cool, dry place for no more than 6 months from the date of preparation of the marmalade.

note

Apples and plums for the preparation of marmalade should only be used fresh, if they are slightly rotten or dried, the mass may not freeze.

Useful advice

Homemade marmalade does not contain preservatives and artificial colors so it can be consumed by children of all ages and the elderly.
