You will need

  • - Bottle of semi-dry red wine

  • - lemon

  • - 0.5 liters of strong black tea

  • - Sugar

  • - Spices to taste

  • - Fruit to taste

Instruction manual

1

Open a bottle of wine. It is not necessary to buy a very expensive drink, since its taste will in any case be masked by the rest of the ingredients. This recipe is ideal even for those who bought wine that is impossible to drink without grimacing. It is important that you do not poison them.

Pour the contents of the bottle into the pan and turn on the heat. Add a few tablespoons of sugar to the wine. (If the wine is dry, it is advisable to increase the amount). Of spices, cinnamon and cloves must be present - classic in this drink. However, if you are a fan of cardamom, nutmeg, ginger or fennel, you can add them. It is necessary to use the so-called "warm" seasonings, which will go well with wine. Add them too and mix everything thoroughly.

2

It is very important not to let the mulled wine boil, otherwise the wine will be spoiled. As soon as small bubbles begin to appear on the surface, which indicates heating to a high temperature, pour half a liter of tea pre-brewed in a separate bowl into a saucepan. Use black, unflavored, preferably loose tea.

Lemon should be cut into two parts. Squeeze one directly into the pan with your hands, cut the second into slices and throw into the pan. Stir again.

3

When the liquid is reheated and close to boiling, turn off the heat. Cover the brew with a lid and let it sit for a few minutes.

While the mulled wine "reaches", cut into small pieces an apple, an orange or other fruits that are pleasant to you personally. Pour a few teaspoons of this fruit salad into glasses. Traditionally, mulled wine is served in irish - transparent glasses on the leg with a convenient handle on the side, but for lack of irish you can use any dishes.

Pour the drink into the glasses with a cooker. If you wish, you can decorate the glass with a slice of lemon or insert a straw for cocktails.

note

If the mulled wine still boils, you can drink it, but the taste will be somewhat spoiled. And absolutely not a drop of alcohol will remain in the drink, it will just evaporate when boiled.

Useful advice

This recipe is good in that due to the long heating and a lot of tea, the drink turns out to be practically non-alcoholic. If you add a liter of tea instead of half, then even a child can be treated with such mulled wine quite calmly. Experiment with spices and proportions. Bon Appetit!
