Buffet reception is the easiest and most affordable way to organize a feast for a large number of guests. It is very simple to create a festive abundance with it at a low financial cost and give the event a relaxed and light atmosphere.

Buffet reception - comes from the French word "fork", i.e. all dishes from such a table can be taken with a fork and they do not need to be cut with a knife. Cold appetizers, hot dishes, cheeses, bread and desserts are served on the table, cut into small pieces that can be completely put in your mouth. There are also options for special, portioned snacks: canapes, tartans, tartlets with various fillings.

Since the buffet reception provides for free movement and communication of guests - consider how to properly organize the space. There are several table layout options:

1. Set a long and spacious table in the middle of the room - if your event does not include dancing or a special program that requires a separate space. As a rule, such a table is built of several small tables and is covered with one or more tablecloths.

2. The same table is installed along the wall - if you are organizing an event where your guests will dance or become participants in the presentation.

3. Install several small (preferably round) tables - if the status of your reception requires special sophistication and you have a large space. Distribute the tables in such a way that it is convenient for your guests to move between them without interfering with each other.

Dishes should be placed as follows:

- Plates stacked in equal positions at the ends of the table or along the edges of the table at an equal distance;

- Forks beautifully lay on decorative plates or on trays and place on the ends of the table. If the plates are located along the table, then the forks are placed directly on the table next to the stack of plates and their number is equal to the number of plates in the stack;

- Place napkins in special holders along the entire table at an equal distance;

- Arrange wine glasses, glasses and glasses in rows at the ends of the table or along the entire table at an equal distance. If there are several tables, place the main part of the dishes and cutlery evenly across all tables, and the reserve on a separate table.

It remains to properly arrange the dishes with treats.

When the table is located in the middle of the room, two-way arrangement of dishes is provided. Set large dishes and multi-tiered vases in the center of the table, then on both sides - dishes in salad bowls, and closer to the edges - dishes in small plates.

If the table is installed along the wall, then install large dishes and multi-tiered vases at the far edge of the table, in the center - dishes in salad bowls, and at the near edge - dishes in small plates. Put a cutlery in each dish to transfer treats. Arrange alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks along the entire table at an equal distance, put bottle openers nearby. Put the sauces next to the appropriate dishes. Do not forget about salt and pepper. For tea, coffee and desserts, highlight a separate area on the table. If there are several tables, then put each type of treat on a separate table.

1. The edge of the table should remain free so that guests can set their plates.

2. If you do not have enough identical dishes, then, in order to avoid variegation, distribute the dishes on the table in homogeneous groups.

Useful advice

1. Prepare the dishes about 3 times more than expected by the guests at the reception. This will allow you not to be distracted from the guests.

2. Since seats at the buffet table are not provided - put a few chairs and armchairs for relaxation and communication of your guests a little to the side.

3. Take care of decorating the table - put vases with flowers, candles.

4.Put a special table for used dishes and arrange for the collection of waste bins for used napkins, skewers and toothpicks.
