Matnakash is the national bread in Armenia. It turns out to be very unusual, tasty and satisfying. The secret of this bread is to knead the dough correctly.

You will need
- - 550 g flour
- - 2 tbsp. l sour cream
- - 12 g of salt
- - 20 g of granulated sugar
- - 10 g of yeast
- - 400 ml of water
- - 2 tbsp. l vegetable oil

First, heat 100 ml of water, add granulated sugar, sour cream, yeast, mix everything well. Put in a warm place for 15-20 minutes.

Put flour in a bowl, add salt. Make a deepening, pour in the yeast and the remaining warm water. Knead the dough.

Lubricate the hands and the table with oil, pour the dough and knead by hand. Knead for a long time, 20-25 minutes. This is the whole secret of bread. When the dough becomes elastic, roll it up, grease it on all sides and place in a bowl. Cover and put in a warm place for 1-1.5 hours. The dough should increase in volume by 3 times.

Take the dough, put on a baking sheet, pre-greased with vegetable oil and covered with parchment paper. Stretch the dough with your hands, give it an oval shape. Make grooves around the perimeter and in the middle.

Cover with a damp towel and let it go, about 10-15 minutes. Then grease with water mixed with oil.

Place the dough in an oven preheated to 180 degrees. Bake matnakash for 10-15 minutes. Remove from the oven, sprinkle bread with water and cover with a towel, leave for a while.
