  • - chicken fillet - 500 g.

  • For sour cream dough:

  • - salt - 0.5 tsp;

  • - soda - 1/4 tsp;

  • - vegetable oil - 2 tsp;

  • - sour cream - 100 g;

  • - flour - 80 g.

Start cooking American pie with the preparation of the test. Sift flour into a bowl, add soda and salt to it. Pour in vegetable oil and sour cream. Mix everything well. If the dough seemed sticky to you, add flour, and if dry, then sour cream.

Place the dough in the refrigerator while cooking the chicken. Wash onions, carrots and chicken in water. Peel and chop the carrots. Cut the fillet into cubes. Chop the onion finely.

Pour 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil into the pan, turn on medium heat. Put the prepared carrots on a preheated pan. Stir occasionally, simmer for five minutes. Carrots should be soft, but not fried.

Turn the heat to maximum, put the chopped chicken into the carrots. Stir frying them for two minutes. Slices of chicken should turn white outside and remain damp inside. Pepper and salt, put the chicken and carrots in a baking dish.

Add oil to the pan and put onions. Simmer over medium heat until soft and discolored. Pour flour into the onion and fry for half a minute, stirring occasionally. In a thin stream, stirring vigorously, pour cold milk into the mixture. Add enough milk to make a thick sauce. Add pepper and salt. Stir constantly, cook for 2 minutes. Then pour the sauce onto the fried chicken pieces.

Take the form in your hands and shake it a bit so that the sauce permeates the entire contents of the form and goes to the bottom. Remove the dough from the refrigerator, dust the table with flour and start rolling the dough on it. Stretch it with your hands in a circle similar in diameter to the diameter of the form.

Moisten the edges of the mold with water. Lay the dough on top of the form and press it to the edges. Cut the excess dough. Make a small hole in the center, it is needed for steam to escape. Lubricate the surface of the dough with oil, water or an egg.

Preheat the oven to 200oC and place the mold inside. Hold the American chicken pie inside for 25 minutes. When the surface is brown, cover the top with a sheet of foil and bake for another 15 minutes.
