Puff pastry boats are a very tasty and satisfying independent dish that does not require a side dish or sauce. When preparing it, harmful ingredients, even mayonnaise, are not used, which means that it is suitable even for small children, and its taste will not leave anyone indifferent.

Puff pastry boats can be served on the festive table or on a regular family dinner. And if you use ready-made puff pastry, then the active cooking time will be only 15 minutes (excluding the time for defrosting the dough and baking ready-made stuffed boats).

To prepare the boats we need:

  • Puffless yeast dough - 500 g (thawed)
  • Fillet of beef, chicken or pork (to your taste) - 300 g
  • Any hard cheese - 50 g (optional)
  • Large onions - 1 pc.
  • Potatoes - 3-4 pcs.
  • Egg - 1 pc.
  • Butter - 100 g
  • Pickled cucumber - 1 large or 3-4 gherkins
  • Salt, pepper, herbs - to taste

Cooking stuffed boats:

  1. Roll out the dough and cut the layers into rectangles. They will turn out about 12 pieces.
  2. In each, make two longitudinal cuts along the long sides

  3. For the filling: boil the potatoes and rub on a coarse grater. Mix with butter (30 g) and finely chopped cucumber. In the remaining oil, fry the minced meat, salt and pepper to taste. Pour chopped onion and simmer for 7 minutes under the lid. Then remove the lid and fry until all the moisture has evaporated. Cool. Finely chop the greens. Grate the cheese on a coarse grater.
  4. On each rectangle, lay out in layers: potatoes (1 tbsp. Spoon), fried minced meat (0.5 tbsp. Tablespoons) and pickles (1 tsp.).
  5. Wrap the dough so that the cuts are on top, one on top of the other.
