To get a real homemade kvass, you do not need to buy any blanks. We will manage the same products from which our parents prepared kvass. Kvass will turn out very tasty and healthy. Do not be afraid that the cooking process is long. A good dish doesn't cook fast.

You will need

  • Black bread - 700 g,

  • sugar - 500 g

  • raisins - 10 berries,

  • dry baking yeast - 3 g,

  • 9 liter pan

  • 7 liter pan

  • 2 liter plastic bottles - 3 pieces.

Cut the bread into pieces of 50 or 100 grams and set to dry in the oven at a temperature of 180 degrees. When the slices of bread turn light brown, our crackers are ready. Cooking crackers takes about 40 minutes. While the crackers are preparing, so as not to lose time, in a pan of 9 liters, fill in 7 liters of boiling water. Once the rusks are ready, immediately put them in a pan filled with boiling water, and add 3 tablespoons of sugar. Allow to cool to room temperature.

When the water in the pan cools to room temperature, you need to add yeast - 3 grams, this is a small pinch, and again leave to infuse for at least 8 hours. After this, you need to remove the bread from the pan, squeezing it. Pour the resulting tincture of bread using a colander or cheesecloth into another pan. This is necessary so that bread crumbs are not left in the finished kvass. Pour 4 tablespoons of sugar into the plastic bottles using a funnel and put 2 raisins in each bottle. Pour the prepared bread tincture into the bottles. Close the lids and shake well to dissolve the sugar.

Put the filled bottles into a 9-liter pan and fill with very hot water. Leave to cool and insist for another 8 hours. After that, remove the bottles from the pan and leave them for another day at room temperature. After all these procedures, remove the kvass bottles in the refrigerator, and the next day the kvass is completely ready.

The cooking process is long, it is more convenient to start cooking in the evening, then the aging process will go like this: night-day-night-day. When opening the bottles for the first time, remove the cap carefully;

Brown bread should be ordinary, classic, without improvers, substitutes, etc. If you put a slice of lemon in the bottles in the second stage, you get lemon kvass, if a sprig of mint - mint
