Spending an evening with a bag of seeds is one of the favorite pastimes for many. Seeds not only relieve stress, cheer up and help pass the time, but also saturate the body with vitamins A, B, D and E. In recent years, sunflower seeds can be bought at any store. As a rule, there they are sold already fried. And it happens that they are not always fried successfully. But if you learn to fry them at home, then such disappointments can be avoided. In addition, weighed raw seeds are much cheaper than if you take them in finished packages.

Instruction manual

1

In order to fry the seeds deliciously, first of all, you need to choose the right pan. For high-quality fried seeds, the best option is considered to be a good-quality cast-iron frying pan with a flat bottom.

2

What seeds are better to take for frying? Large seeds are considered the most delicious. But it’s not worth taking small ones. First of all, pay attention to how they are stored. It is good if the seeds are in a bag at a distance from sunlight. Before buying, try a couple of seeds to taste - if you feel rancidity or a taste of bitterness, then do not take them. Such seeds were stored incorrectly, which led to their unsuitability for use.

3

It is also necessary to look at their appearance: the seeds should be approximately the same size and free of impurities (husks, debris). Try crushing a few with your fingers - they should be solid and full, not empty.

4

If you decide to rinse the seeds before frying, then pour them into a colander, hold them under a stream of cool water and mix by hand to get rid of dust and debris. As soon as the seeds are washed, they must be dried. To do this, spread the moist seeds on a newspaper or on a towel in one layer and wait for their surface drying.

5

Place the pan on the stove and heat it well. Then sprinkle the seeds and fry for 2-3 minutes, stirring constantly, using a wooden spatula. The remaining moisture inside the seeds after washing will not allow them to quickly burn out. But once they are completely dry, lower the temperature to medium and fry a little more time. The total frying time depends on the variety of seeds, their size and shell thickness, but not more than 15 minutes.

6

As soon as you hear a slight crackle, set the temperature minimum and try the sunflower seed to taste - it should be fried. Are the seeds ready? You can also determine by opening one of them - the shell should open easily, and the seed should have a yellowish tint. Seeds can not be overexposed. Once they are ready, immediately remove them from the stove and pour them out of the pan.

7

Place them on a table or on a tray covered with a large towel and cover with the edges on top. Leave them in this state for 20 minutes. Or just pour it into a wide basin and put a few paper napkins on them - this will be enough to get the seeds to the desired condition.
