Instruction manual

1

Remove the nuts and dry them thoroughly. To do this, use a special device - a fortress column with a roasting pan or a drum dryer. At home, when processing a small amount of nuts, you can use a household dryer for vegetables or an oven. Drying adds flavor to nuts and makes them even tastier.

2

Clean the cooled nuts from debris, sift to remove all foreign impurities. To remove the dry layer of the shell, you can put the nuts in a canvas bag and shake for some time. Although many housewives consider this an unnecessary job, because the nuts still need to be cleaned.

3

In production, nuts are calibrated. They are divided into three types: small, medium and large. Upon completion of this "dirty" work, the nuts are thrown on Greek eggs or on SVU-1 machines. After this heavy processing, they are sieved on winnowers and thus the shell is cleaned of shells and “shirts”. At home, before releasing the kernel from the shell, place the nuts for 10-15 minutes in hot water, then drop it onto a sieve. Put the dry nuts on the table and walk on them with a rolling pin several times.

The same procedure can be done by first lightly frying the nut.

4

Pour the peeled kernels into a household press, they are used to get juice from berries. Set the highest power and turn on the device. Do not expect the oil to run like a river, a glass of large kernels produces a little more than a teaspoon of raw. Most often, the nucleus has to be run through the press twice or thrice. You can use a manual juicer, although this is not very convenient (take the smallest strainer as a nozzle)

5

Collect the resulting product and let it settle. Ideally, you should get a cloudy sediment equal to ¼ oil at the bottom of the tank.

6

Drain the oil, filter and sterilize in a water bath for no more than 7-10 minutes.

note

High-calorie butter is made from Siberian cedar nuts, which is the most valuable, and confectionery flour is obtained from the dry residue, which is used in the production of higher grades of halva and sweets. The shell does not disappear, it is used to make excellent methyl alcohol, as well as acetic acid and other useful substances.

Cedar oil is a biologically active additive, and is also actively used in cosmetology for body massage, preparation of facial oils, as a component of skin restoration products. The price of this oil in the world market has always been high.
