Shortcake is very quick and easy to prepare. If unexpected guests rush to you “for tea” - this is the simplest and fastest baking that does not require special ingredients for the dough and toppings.

You will need

    • sour cream (optional);
    • vanillin (optional);
    • margarine;
    • butter;
    • jam or jam.

Pound one large egg with 150 grams of sugar thoroughly in a cup. Add the softened margarine, 1 teaspoon of soda (always slaked kefir or lemon juice), 1 tablespoon of homemade or store sour cream of 15-20% fat and add everything to a homogeneous consistency.

Add 2-2.5 cups of flour to the resulting mass and knead the dough. It should turn out homogeneous and not stick to hands. Cover the top of the cup with a lid or cloth, put in the refrigerator for 30-40 minutes.

Divide the chilled dough into 2 parts: the majority is approximately 70%, the smaller is 30%. Take a round baking dish with a diameter of 22-25 centimeters, grease it with butter and sprinkle with flour a little. Distribute most of the dough on the bottom and walls of the mold, the sides should be at least 2-2.5 centimeters in height. Spread 2-3 tablespoons of thick jam or jam evenly on the bottom of the pan. Grate the rest of the dough on a coarse grater and cover them up or decorate it at your discretion with figures of dough or stripes. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees and place the pie in it. After 25-30 minutes, check readiness by piercing with a match or a toothpick. If the dough does not stick, remove the cake from the oven. The finished cake has a pleasant golden brown color.

The whiter the flour you use, the brighter the color of your baking will be.

Useful advice

If you use fresh berries or not very thick jam for the filling, sprinkle them on top with one teaspoon of starch. To add flavor, add half a teaspoon of vanillin to the dough with flour. If you do not put sour cream in the dough, the cake will turn out to be more crispy.
