A distinctive feature of unsweetened bulk cake is batter. To prepare it, you need to mix kefir with quenched vinegar soda and salt. Add eggs, vegetable oil and beat well.

Pour the flour into a thin mixture in a thin stream - so that the dough looks like thick sour cream in consistency.

After preparing the dough, you need to make the filling. To do this, cut the onions, mix the mashed potatoes with black or red pepper (to taste).

Drain the liquid from canned food, mash the fish with a fork.

Lubricate the mold with butter. It is better to take a fairly deep square or rectangular shape with thin walls.

Pour a little more than half the batter into the mold. Put the filling directly on the dough. You can first distribute the mashed potatoes (or chopped eggs, rice), then onions and canned fish.

Pour the filling with the remaining dough so that the mass completely covers the fish. It is most convenient to pour the dough with a tablespoon.

Put the mold in a heated oven and bake the liquid cake at a temperature of 180 degrees. Soak the dish in the oven for about 45 minutes, check the readiness with a toothpick or match. As soon as the cake is browned on top and the toothpick remains dry, without sticking dough, you can turn it off.

Hearty pie is good because you can easily experiment with the filling. For example, canned fish can be replaced with chopped boiled chicken or minced meat fried in vegetable oil. You can remove mashed potato, rice or eggs from the filling and leave only the fish, add greens. And you can make the cake sweet using a crushed apple as a filling.

Bulk cake is delicious in both hot and cold form. It is worth cutting it with a wooden spatula, and not with a knife, so that the filling does not crumble.
