How to cook a soft and juicy rabbit in the oven on sour cream

One of the folk recipes, contributing to a significant softening of rabbit meat in the oven, involves the addition of sour-milk and some other products to the dish. So, to cook the rabbit in the oven soft and juicy, use the following ingredients:

  • 1 carcass of a rabbit;

  • half a glass of low-fat kefir;

  • half a glass of low-fat sour cream;

  • 3 tablespoons mustard

  • 3-4 onions;

  • vegetable oil;

  • greens and seasonings;

  • salt to taste.

Rinse the rabbit meat and chop into equal pieces. Peel the onion and cut into rings. Put the meat in a bowl, sprinkle with seasoning to taste, put onion rings on top and salt. Add kefir to the meat bowl so that it completely hides in the liquid. Cover and refrigerate for 10-12 hours (preferably overnight).

Add mustard to the dish (you can change the portion depending on taste preferences), mix and let stand for another 20-30 minutes at room temperature. Prepare a baking dish, pour in sunflower oil and lay out the pieces of rabbit meat. Preheat the oven and place the dish for 15 minutes.

Remove the browned rabbit meat and turn it over to the other side, then bake again for 10-15 minutes. Remove the dish, sprinkle it with greens, pour the marinade and continue to simmer in the oven until fully cooked (the meat should have a brownish-golden hue. 5-10 minutes before the end of the baking, pour the rabbit with sour cream additionally. Put the rabbit meat on the dish and serve to the table with any side dish to choose from.
