    • fish fillet or steaks - 1 kg;
    • water;

First prepare the fish. The tastiest thing for a couple is sea - trout, salmon, pink salmon, pangasius, but any other is suitable. Scrape off the scales, remove the entrails, rinse thoroughly. Then cut each carcass along the ridge into two parts and remove the bones. Rinse and dry again with a cloth. If you want to save time, use ready-made fish fillets or steaks.

Sprinkle the resulting fillet lightly with lemon juice or olive oil. Salt, pepper and grate with dried herbs (you can use ready-made seasonings for fish, but in this case, reduce the amount of salt). Leave the fillet for 10-15 minutes so that it has time to soak in aromas. You can do without spices, then the finished dish will be more dietary.

Take care of the dishes in which you will cook. If you have a double boiler, then everything is simple: pour water into the lower container, put the prepared pieces of fish on a trellised bowl, close the lid and start cooking according to the instructions for your double boiler. If you do not have such a household appliance, do not despair. Firstly, the function is to cook fish for steam and in a conventional saucepan. To do this, pour water in it until about the middle, install a wide and flat heat-resistant plate on top, grease it a little with oil and lay out the fish. If you have not used spices, on top you can put a few twigs of dill and lemon slices. Cover the fillet with foil and close the lid on top, put on medium heat.

Steamed fish is cooked very quickly - only 7-10 minutes after the moment of boiling water. To avoid burns, do not often open the lid of the double boiler during cooking. Steamed fish is best combined with mashed potatoes or vegetable salad.

Useful advice

It is advisable to lay the prepared fillet in a double boiler in one layer, in which case the steam treatment will be more uniform.
