What could be better than a cup of aromatic coffee in the morning? Only a cup of properly brewed aromatic coffee. It is still commonly believed that the most proper coffee is brewed in a Turk or cezve - a special metal vessel with a narrow neck.

Put the Turk on fire again and wait until the coffee begins to boil.

Remove the Turk from the heat and cover with a saucer for five minutes. After five minutes, you can pour the finished drink into warmed cups.

Useful advice

A mixture of coffee, sugar and salt, heated in a Turk before cooking, should be warmed up, and not begin to smoke.

Together with sugar and salt, you can add spices to ground coffee: ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves. It is advisable not to mix more types of spices at a time. They should complement and emphasize the taste and smell of coffee, and not drown it.

After the coffee is infused, you can add a second portion of ground coffee to the Turk, bring the drink to a boil, remove from heat and let the coffee brew for five minutes. You will get double coffee.

Ideally, coffee beans should be freshly roasted and freshly ground. And, worst of all, they are ground using a hand mill. If a hand mill seems too exotic to you when buying coffee, choose the one that is ground specifically for brewing in a Turk. Coffee for machine brewing is distinguished by a larger grinding and does not turn out so tasty with manual brewing.

Before making coffee, rinse the turku with hot water.

Coffee cups should also be rinsed with hot water before pouring coffee into them.

To brew coffee, use filtered, not too hard and not too soft, preferably chilled water. Boiled or poured from the tap water is not suitable for this.
