GMO products first appeared in the 70s of the XX century. It was then that scientists developed a technique for introducing foreign genes into the body's DNA. Since then, there has been ongoing debate about whether genetic engineering products are dangerous to the human body.

GMO Products: Research by Scientists

According to research by Russian and foreign scientists, genetically modified foods have a negative effect on the human body. Moreover, children of a very young age are already exposed to them. The children's body is highly sensitive to various allergens. Genetically modified soybeans, which is part of many infant formula for artificial feeding, is one of them.

Allergies caused by transgenic products can cause various chronic diseases of the skin, digestive organs, nervous and endocrine systems, etc. in children. There has been an increase in the occurrence of allergies in adults, in the diet of which genetically modified foods were present.

The danger of GMO products for expectant mothers has been identified. Regularly eating them, a pregnant woman is able to harm the health of her unborn child in the process of its intrauterine development. In the course of experiments on rodents, scientists found that damaged DNA enters the fetal organs and accumulates there, causing a variety of mutations and other unpredictable effects.

According to official studies, rodent use of GMO plants has also led to serious problems with their gastrointestinal tract. In a group of animals kept in similar conditions, but eating ordinary potatoes, no negative changes in health were recorded.

Scientists around the world are sounding the alarm about the extremely negative effect of genetically modified foods on the body’s immune system. Thus, studies in rodents showed that in individuals of the group for which transgenic food was used, the number of cells regulating the immune function of the body decreased. In the same way, the relationship between the use of GMO products and the occurrence of cancer was confirmed. Genetic engineering also creates problems for vegetarians by introducing animal genes into plant foods.
