Ingredients:

  • slightly salted herring 1 pc,

  • carrots 1 pc

  • average beets 2 pcs

  • medium potatoes 4 pcs

  • eggs 1-2 pcs

  • onions 1 pc.,

  • mayonnaise, salt to taste

  • vinegar nine percent teaspoon.

Cooking:

  1. Take a deep pan, put all the vegetables in it and cook them.

  2. Boil the eggs in a separate pan.

  3. After the vegetables and eggs are cooked, cool them and peel them.

  4. Proceed to cutting herring. Better lay on the work surface of a newspaper or substrate, so as not to stain. Cleanse fish from entrails, bones and fins.

  5. Grate potatoes and put half the first layer on a plate. Salt a little and grease with mayonnaise.

  6. Finely chop the herring and lay on top of the potatoes. Pour mayonnaise again.

  7. Peel the onions and cut into small cubes. Lay out the third layer. You can first scald it with boiling water to remove the bitterness. Lubricate with mayonnaise.

  8. Grate the carrots also in a coarse grater and lay in the fourth layer. Lubricate with mayonnaise.

  9. Put the remaining potatoes on top, salt it a little and add mayonnaise.

  10. Grate the beets. Put on top of the potatoes. Lubricate with mayonnaise and decorate.

Cooking Tricks:

  • All vegetables must be boiled in a peel in order to preserve vitamins and nutrients. Plus, they will not fall apart when sliced.

  • Vegetables can be wrapped in foil and baked in the oven. So they will have a more intense taste.

  • It is better to grind vegetables on a grater, and not with a knife, as they will be airy.

  • For greater airiness, you can rub vegetables by weight. Only neatly.
