Rolls are a type of sushi. The difference between them lies in the method of preparation and the shape of the finished dish. Rolls are like tiny rolls, and sushi are lumps of compressed rice, which are covered with slices of fish or shrimp and tied with a ribbon from a noriya. Fillings, seasonings, and a combination style can also vary.

Maki (rolls) are a combination of rice with vegetables and seafood. All of this is rolled into a sheet of nori - seaweed. The resulting roll is cut into pieces.

Nigiri (squeezed sushi) - these are squeezed rice bars, small, finger-sized, a piece of fish is placed on top.

Chirashi-sushi (separate) is the most common species in Japan. Rice is laid out in small containers, an arbitrary combination of vegetables and seafood is added.

Oshi-sushi (pressed) is prepared like this. Pickled or cooked fish is placed on the bottom of a small container. It is filled to the brim with rice, and oppression is arranged on top of it. The workpiece is taken out after a while, turned upside down by the fish and cut into pieces.

Mixed can be called any sushi that does not fit into any category described above. This, for example, fucus-sushi - a thin omelet is cut into squares and wrapped in rice.
