Choose medium-sized potatoes.

Put in a pan and completely fill with cold water.

Salt (1 teaspoon of salt in a container of 2-3 liters). Thanks to this, the potatoes do not crack during cooking.

Put on a small fire and bring to a boil, reduce heat, cover and simmer for 30 minutes.

You can check the potato readiness by piercing it with a fork or knife. If it pierces easily, the potato is ready.

If you want to use this potato for cooking salads, then after cooking, place it in cold water. So it cools faster and easier to clean.

If you just cooked it for food, drain the water, cover and leave for a while (about 10-15 minutes).
