Cooking a homemade cake often causes a real stir in the family, especially in children. It is not known what is more important for them - the cake itself or the cooking process. A homemade cake can be without any decorations, but if you let your imagination run wild and come up with an interesting composition, the cooking process itself can be a real holiday that will be remembered for a long time. The most traditional type of decoration is rosette made of marzipan or mastic.

Instruction manual

1

Make marzipan. For 2 egg whites, take 250 g of almonds and the same amount of powdered sugar. Almonds must be scrolled through the meat grinder 1 time, then add the icing sugar to it and twist again. Put the mixture in a cup and beat.

2

Add a few drops of lemon juice and mix gently. Gradually pour in a thin stream of protein. Beat the mixture until smooth. It should be pretty tight.

3

From a piece of marzipan, fashion an elongated drop. Put it on a toothpick. This will be the core of the rose. You can sculpt it in another way - roll out a circle, cut or tear off the edges with cloves, turn it into a tube and also put it on a toothpick. But in this way it is better to sculpt from mastic.

4

Roll a ball of yellow or red marzipan. It should be slightly larger than a droplet, from which you will make petals. Put the ball on a piece of cling film, and cover it on top with a second piece. Roll the ball to make a round cake. It should be no more than 2 mm thick. Cut a flower with a mold.

5

Use a sharp knife to cut the connection lines of the petals. If the mold is small, then it is necessary to incise no more than 1 cm. With a stick with a ball, properly roll the edges of the petals so that they become wavy and thin.

6

Put the resulting flower on a toothpick close to the core. Wrap the core with one of the petals, slightly bending its edges. Skip the next petal, and wrap the core as the third. So, through one, wrap the core with all the petals.

7

Make the second one the same flower and repeat all the operations. For roses made of mastic, you can mold individual petals and wrap the central petal with them. Cut out the leaves. Roll a cake of green marzipan and cut the leaves with an asterisk. You can slightly extend and sharpen them, then they will be more like real ones.

note

Marzipan can be bought at the convenience store or in the supermarket.

The knife should be sharp.

Lemon juice needs very little, just a few drops.
