In cookbooks, salt solutions of various concentrations are often mentioned, which are necessary both for cooking and for cooking. The landlady, who does not remember school lessons in mathematics and chemistry very well, runs the risk of getting a solution that is more saturated than required, or less saturated. There is no great danger in this, but the dish may not turn out exactly as we would like.

You will need

  • - salt;

  • - water;

  • - glass jar;

  • - measuring dishes;

  • - pharmacy scales;

  • - calculator.

Instruction manual

1

Buy volumetric utensils. You can find it in the most ordinary convenience store. Since you are unlikely to work with aggressive chemicals in the kitchen, the dishes can be made of plastic or ordinary glass. This is just a jug or a beaker with divisions. It is useful not only for the preparation of saline. Finding pharmacy scales for sale is also not a problem. For culinary purposes, electronic ones are more suitable.

2

See what solution you need. You have to solve the school problem by percent, where the entire mass of the substance that you need to get is 100%. If salt is 10%, then water, respectively, 90%. A twenty percent solution consists of 20% salt and 80% water, for fifty percent components are taken in equal amounts. Do not take iodized salt, unless specifically indicated in the recipe.

3

Decide how much solution you need to get. Calculate the mass of each component. To calculate how much salt is needed, multiply the total amount of the solution by the percentage of salt and divide all this by 100. Measure the salt. Grinding in this case does not play a role, but small crystals dissolve faster than large ones.

4

The amount of water is calculated by the same formula, only instead of the percentage of salt, the total amount of solution is multiplied by the percentage of water. There is nothing wrong with the fact that you have one ingredient loose and another liquid, since 1 liter of water weighs 1 kg.

5

Pour into the transparent jar the amount of water that you received as a result of the calculations. The solution can be made from both raw water and boiled water. It is better if it is warm, this will speed up the process somewhat.

6

Add the calculated amount of salt. Stir the solution until the salt is completely dissolved. The speed of the process will not affect in any way what exactly you will interfere with, so the most ordinary spoon will do.

note

Tap water may contain impurities, so it is not recommended to use it. It is better to take bottled water.

Useful advice

Since it is often necessary to draw up solutions, it is very useful to remember the formula x = a * k / 100, where x is the amount of ingredient, k is the total amount of solution, and k is the known percentage of the ingredient.
