Take 1 cup of broth, in which cabbage was boiled for cabbage rolls. Pre-taste the broth to taste. If necessary, add salt to taste. You can season the broth with ground black pepper or any other spices that you prefer.

Combine the broth of cabbage with sour cream. It is better to use sour cream, it will give the sauce a more rich and delicate taste. If the consistency of the sauce seems a little thick to you, add another small amount of cabbage broth.

Add ketchup to the mixture of sour cream and cabbage broth. It is better to use ketchup not too sharp so that the sauce does not bitter. First add 2-3 tablespoons of ketchup, if necessary add more.

Peel 2 onion heads and chop them finely with a sharp knife. Heat a small amount of vegetable oil in a pan and sauté the onion in it with constant stirring.

Prepare the greens. To do this, carefully wash a small amount of dill and parsley and dry it slightly. You can add any other herbs, such as chives, basil or cilantro. Finely chop the greens with a sharp knife.

Combine the mixture of cabbage, sour cream and ketchup with onions and chopped herbs. Add some salt to taste. Mix everything very well. You do not need to warm the sauce. Stuffed cabbage dressing sauce is ready.

When heating vegetable oil in a pan, make sure that no water gets into it. Otherwise, you risk getting a burn from hot spray.
Useful advice
If necessary, ketchup can be replaced with tomato paste. Note that less paste will be needed than ketchup. If desired, a small amount of finely chopped tomatoes can be added to the sauce.
