The New Year's Eve has a lot of gastronomic traditions: champagne, Olivier, jellied fish and, of course, a salad of crab sticks. Over the decades, these dishes have become boring, become familiar, and have practically moved into the category of everyday ones. At least, they no longer cause a distinct sensation of a holiday. You can find some exotic recipe that will surely please with its novelty; but such luxury is far from affordable for everyone. Those who want to cook an original dish and not spend too much on food will be helped by a puff salad with crab meat and cheese. Yes, and he looks spectacular.

You will need

  • - 5 eggs;

  • - 200 g of crab sticks;

  • - 1 small onion;

  • - 1 large red apple;

  • - 150-200 g of cheese;

  • - a quarter pack of butter;

  • - mayonnaise.

Hard-boiled eggs, peel and separate the protein from the yolk. Cut the proteins into small pieces and put them in a separate container. Divide the yolks into two equal parts: grind the first with mayonnaise to the state of a thick sauce, and mash the second into fine dust. Put both “blanks” into separate containers: they will be needed at the very end.

Next, you need to cut the rest of the products: crab meat - with thin chips; onions - small, no more than 2-3 mm, cubes; grate the apple on a coarse grater; and cheese - on a small or medium size (you should get thin long fibers).

Now you can begin to create a New Year's masterpiece. The salad will need to be laid out on a flat dish and formed into a pie. To start, mix the egg whites with onions, salt and mayonnaise. Put them in the first layer.

The second layer is crab meat. Mix it with a small amount of mayonnaise so that the pieces keep their shape, and cover with this mass of squirrels and onions.

Next comes the turn of the apple. It is better to rub it directly on the dish, so as not to waste time on leveling the layer. Pour 3-4 mm of apple "chips" and squeeze it a little so that the pieces of fruit do not puff. And pour mayonnaise on top.

Top with thin layers of butter. Be careful: it should not be much, otherwise the treat will be too fat. For convenience, you can put the oil in the freezer for a couple of hours, after which just rub it on the salad.

The next step is cheese. Rub it on a fine grater and put it on the cake. The thickness of this layer should be 2-3 mm. Top with mayonnaise.

Sprinkle everything with a grated yolk, coat the top and sides of the “cake” with mayonnaise and sprinkle with small cheese chips. Exclusive New Year's salad is ready.

The principle of this dish is that each product is laid out on top of the other, without stirring. Therefore, you will need several medium-sized containers, bowls or cans in which you put the prepared foods.

Useful advice

On top of the New Year’s salad, you can decorate with apple slices, apple-peeled folded in the form of a rose, or even pieces of natural crab meat and other seafood. The same products can be added, in small quantities, to the salad itself to enhance the "crab" taste.
