Potato casserole is a simple and rather satisfying dish, for the preparation of which the products needed in the refrigerator of almost every housewife are necessary. Thanks to its excellent taste, magical aroma and very attractive appearance, potato casserole can be an excellent decoration for both everyday and festive tables.

- 1.5 kg of potatoes;
- 200 ml of milk;
- 500 g of pork;
- 500 g of beef;
- 50 g butter;
- 2 onion heads;
- 3-4 cloves of garlic;
- 1 egg
- mayonnaise;
- 50 g breadcrumbs;
- ground black pepper;
- salt;
- vegetable oil.

Peel the potatoes, wash them thoroughly and dip them in a pot of salted cold water. Place the pot over medium heat and cook the potatoes until cooked.

Pour the broth into a separate container, and push the boiled potatoes to a puree state.

Boil the milk and melt the butter over low heat or in the microwave. Add both of these ingredients to mashed potatoes while continuing to crush and whisk it.

Leave the mashed potatoes to cool at room temperature and start cooking minced meat.

Cut the meat into pieces of medium size and pass them through a meat grinder. Peel the onion and also pass it through a meat grinder. Chop the garlic and add it to the minced meat.

Sauté minced meat with onion and garlic in preheated vegetable oil over medium heat. After 5 minutes, add salt and pepper to it. Pour the minced meat with 1 cup of potato broth. Stew the resulting mass for 10-15 minutes.

Grease the bottom and walls of the baking dish with oil and sprinkle with breadcrumbs.

Divide mashed potato into two identical parts. Put one of them in an even layer on the bottom of the baking dish. Put a layer of fried minced meat on top. And cover it with another layer of mashed potatoes.

Beat the egg, add mayonnaise to it and grease the top of the casserole with the mixture.

Put the dish baked for half an hour in a preheated oven to 180º. Before placing the finished casserole on plates, let it cool slightly.
