Many gourmets are subdued by the pleasant orange Cointreau liqueur. The main feature of the drink is an interesting combination of ripe oranges and sugar. The original recipe for making liquor cannot be found, as it is kept in the strictest confidence. But winemakers found a way out and developed several methods that allow you to repeat this famous orange drink at home.

You will need

  • -vodka - 1/2 liters,

  • ripe oranges - 3 pcs.,

  • -water - 400 ml,

  • sugar - 400 grams,

  • Cinnamon - 1 stick.

Rinse oranges under running water.

Pour 400 ml of water into the pan, add 400 grams of sugar, put on moderate heat. Stir the syrup so that it does not burn. Sugar should be completely dissolved. Remove the finished syrup from the heat.

Remove the upper skin (zest) from oranges. Cut the zest in small pieces and transfer it to sugar syrup, mix. Add the cinnamon stick (if you do not really like cinnamon, then you can make liquor without it).

Squeeze the juice from the pulp of oranges, which we pour into a saucepan. Leave to infuse for ten minutes.

Pour vodka into the pan. Mix well, pour the liquid mass into a jar, which is hermetically closed.

We put the can with the drink in a cool place (preferably dark) for four days. Shake the jar of liquor every day.

After four days, filter the liquor through two to three layers of gauze. When filtering, gauze gets dirty, so it needs to be changed.

Pour liquor into clean and dry bottles. We remove the liquor for five days in a cool place. If you want a thicker drink, leave the bottles in a dark, cool place for a week.
