On other days, you can eat any plant-based food, paying attention to the fact that the finished products purchased in stores may contain a certain amount of animal products. For example, ready-made pancakes with potatoes at first glance seem to be lean, but their dough most likely includes milk and egg powder.

The ban applies not only to meat, but also to fish. It is allowed, as well as a little red wine, only on the feast of the Annunciation and on Palm Sunday. On all other days of fasting, fish products are prohibited. Opinions are divided about seafood that cannot be attributed to the fish family, but such an interpretation of the admissibility of the diet is not too ethical, because fasting is not a diet, but a cleansing of the body and soul.

It is believed that a lean table is necessarily boring, but in practice, a lot of healthy and tasty dishes can be prepared from vegetables and cereals. For sweet tooth, sugar, honey, dried fruits and dark chocolate remain allowed. Familiar meat is quite possible to replace with soy, and even mayonnaise can be found lean.
