You will need

  • - board for cutting vegetables

  • - sharp big knife

  • - a knife for peeling vegetables

  • - bell pepper

Instruction manual

1

Take one thoroughly washed and dried bell pepper and place it horizontally on a cutting board for cutting vegetables so that its stalk is on the side of the hand in which you hold the knife. Use an ordinary, well-sharpened, kitchen knife.

2

Hold the pepper with your free hand and with a knife cut the top of the bell pepper so as to cut off the tail and allow access to the seeds and partitions inside the vegetable. Free the cut off part of the pepper from the tail and set aside so that you can cut it later. Cut a small portion of the opposite end of the pepper and also set aside this portion of pepper. Now both ends of your pepper are cut off.

3

Give the bell pepper an upright position on the chopping board. Gently cut the pepper on one side along. Please note that pepper must be cut only on one side, you should not cut bell pepper in half - this will complicate its further cleaning of the seeds.

4

Put the vegetable on its side and carefully draw a knife along its inside, while removing seeds and membranes inside the pepper. It is most convenient to perform this action with a knife for peeling vegetables, but if you do not have one, then you can continue to work with an ordinary, well-sharpened, kitchen knife.

5

Unroll the pepper on the board, placing its inner part to the top, and start slicing straws - along or across, depending on how you want to decorate your dish. For convenience, you can cut the resulting ribbon of pepper in half, in which case the straw will be shorter. Also, with this peeling of the vegetable, it will be most convenient to grind it into neat cubes that fit perfectly into the salad.

6

Cut the deferred parts of the bell pepper into cubes or cut them into arbitrary geometric shapes and decorate your dish.

note

When using a blunted kitchen knife, you risk spoiling the design of your culinary masterpiece, and when using a well-sharpened kitchen knife, be sure to follow safety precautions so as not to damage the skin.

Useful advice

Choose ripe, fleshy peppers for your dishes. Their use will simplify the cutting, and will bring the greatest benefit to your body.
