Stuffed cabbage is a delicious dish that can be prepared almost all year round. It’s even better for them to use ripe autumn cabbage. The meat for stuffed cabbage should be of medium fat content, so it is usually best for minced meat to take either not very fatty pork or a mixture of beef and pork. Rice is added to the stuffing on cabbage rolls, so this dish is not only tasty, but also very satisfying.

Pour rice into a small saucepan, rinse it under cold water. When the water becomes light, drain it, leaving a certain amount of water in the pan 5 cm above the level of rice. Put the pan on the fire when the water boils, reduce the heat and simmer the rice over low heat for about 15 minutes. Then turn off the pan and drain the water. Rice should be a little damp.

2

Grind the minced meat in a meat grinder, put rice in it. Chop dill finely, add it to the minced meat.

3

Finely chop the onion, rub the carrots on a coarse grater. Preheat the pan, fry the onion until golden, then put the carrots in the pan and lightly fry with the onion. Pour two-thirds of the contents of the pan into meat and rice, salt, pepper, mix everything. Your stuffing for stuffed cabbage is ready. The remaining fried onions with carrots then add to the pan, in which cabbage rolls will be cooked.
