You will need
- - 200 g of black or green lentils;
- - 2 cm ginger root;
- - 1 large onion;
- - 1 chili pepper;
- - 2 tbsp. tablespoons of soy sauce;
- - oil, salt.

Rinse the lentils, fill with cold water, leave for one hour.

Drain the water, chop the lentils, it should be pasty. Can be chopped with a blender or in a mortar.

Peel ginger with onions. Cut the onion smaller, and rub the ginger on a small grater.

Remove the seeds from the chili pepper, chop finely.

Mix lentils with onions, peppers, ginger. Add soy sauce.

Heat the oil in a saucepan or cauldron, form small balls from lentils. Sauté them until golden brown over moderate heat.

Put on a paper towel to drain excess oil. Serve hot balls, decorate with green lettuce.
