You will need

  • - 1 kg drain

  • - 1.3 kg of sugar

  • - 0.2 cups of drinking water

  • - glass jars with plastic or screw caps

  • - utensils for cooking jam

  • - wooden spatula

  • - ladle

Instruction manual

1

Wash the plums with warm water and remove seeds from them. The seeds are easily removed from the ripe sweet plum if you make a cut with a knife on one side of the plum, dividing the fruit in half. Washed and pitted halves of the plums fold in a plate.

2

Weigh the plums. Put them in a jam jar. Then add sugar, from the calculation - 1.3 kg of sugar per 1 kg of plums. Gently mix with a wooden spatula so that the sugar mixes with the plum. Add water.

3

Put the dishes with plums on a slow fire and, gently stirring to disperse the sugar, cook until boiling. As soon as the jam begins to boil, make a stronger heat and cook until tender (about 40 minutes). Remove dishes with jam from the stove and set to cool.

4

Pour the cooled jam over the jars with a ladle, close the lids and put in a cool place.

note

It is advisable to use non-ripe plums. It is very difficult to separate the bones from them. And when cooking such plums in jam, only skins remain.

Plum is not only delicious, but also very healthy fruit, rich in vitamins and minerals.

Useful advice

If you want a thick jam - add less water and cook longer.
