You will need

    • 1 kg of apples;
    • 1 kg of sugar;
    • 150 g cranberries;
    • 2 lemons or a few kumquats;
    • vanillin or cinnamon.

Instruction manual

1

Rinse the apples in water, cut in half, peel, hard core and seeds. Cut into cubes with a side of about 1-1.5 cm. Put the fruit on a sheet greased with a very small amount of vegetable oil so that the apples do not stick, and bake for 7-10 minutes in the oven, heated to 180 degrees. Make sure that the cubes do not dry out, if necessary, remove them earlier.

2

Start cooking syrup. Take water and sugar in a 2: 1 ratio. Mix them in a saucepan and cook over medium heat, but do not boil. Sugar should be completely dissolved, and the water evaporated a little. Ready syrup holds a drop shape well on a plate, and does not spread on it. If the syrup turns out to be too liquid, add more sugar to it.

3

Wash the cranberries. Grate the zest of lemon or kumquat on a fine grater. Put the apple slices in syrup along with the berries and zest. Cook the jam for at least an hour, slices of apples as a result should become almost transparent. Stir it constantly. At the end of cooking, add a little vanilla or ground cinnamon for the flavor.

4

Additionally, to saturate the taste in the dessert during cooking, you can add applesauce. To do this, peel 1-2 apples, grate and add to the syrup 30 minutes before cooking. In this case, you will get something between jam and jam.

5

Prepare the packaging for the jam. Sterilize jars and lids in boiling water for several minutes. Then dry them. Pour the slightly cooled jam into cans and roll it with metal lids using a special machine. Leave to cool to room temperature. and then put it in a cool place for storage, for example, in a cellar or in a closet. It is advisable to store open jam in the refrigerator.

6

If during storage your dessert is sugared, heat it on a tile before serving. High temperature will dissolve sugar.
