You will need

  • - corn starch - 2 cups;

  • - sugar - 2 glasses;

  • - ground cinnamon - 1 tsp;

  • - citric acid - 2 tsp;

  • - vanillin on the tip of a knife;

  • - instant gelatin - 100 g;

  • - water - 3 glasses;

  • - icing sugar for deboning;

  • - sesame for sprinkling.

Instruction manual

1

Dessert must be prepared in a thick-walled pan (ideally in a cauldron) so that the mixture does not burn. Pour in it starch, sugar and a pinch of vanillin.

2

Add cinnamon (it will give a color cast) and 2 sachets (100 g) of instant gelatin. Mix all dry ingredients well with a spatula.

3

Pour water into the dry mixture and mix again. Put the pot on medium heat (make sure that the mixture does not boil) and cook, stirring occasionally with a wooden spoon, until the mixture becomes thick.

4

When the mixture becomes pasty, remove it from the burner, add citric acid and stir well.

5

Put the mass in a form lined with cling film, carefully tamp and leave in the cold overnight.

6

In the morning, remove the Turkish delight from the mold and cut into cubes. Roll each cube in icing sugar and sesame as desired (you can also use coconut flakes).

7

Store Turkish delight in a dry place in a closed box, sprinkled with starch so that the cubes do not stick together. Before serving, just shake off the starch and roll each cube in powdered sugar!
